The myth of neutrality as related to Scientology-series articles

It is important to understand the somewhat unique nature of Scientology vis-a-vis the internet in general and Wikipedia in particular before we start casting judgement on the nature of editors and their edits, especially before we start maligning said editors and their edits without providing proof (diffs).

  • The first thing to understand is that Scientology exists separate from its criticism and separate from the internet. This seemingly obvious point is key to understanding what is occurring here on Wikipedia. It is important to understand that Scientology exists as a body of theory and practice that hundreds of thousands, if not millions, have found beneficial in their lives. A vast number of people, intelligent people, have studied it, applied it, and found that it works and that it is useful. This simple, but incredibly important, truth is ignored by almost all internet criticism of Scientology and takes a back seat to the continual repetition of internet criticisms here on Wikipedia.
  • The second thing to understand is that criticism of Scientology exists as an internet meme.

Just something I decided not to post

A simple diff. I will not post in this thread again. Sorry that the posts referenced are harsh but diffs seem sadly lacking in all this go-round and this point is worth making in present context. -- Justanother 19:11, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Ah, my favorite all-time post. How did I know that you would want to play that one. As far as you attacking me, I already posted examples with diffs on the evidence page for all to see. And yes, I lost my wiki-temper there over your offensive behavior and I used a few choice words but you never seem to notice that I directed the choicest words at myself. And I already apologized to the uninvolved community by posting an apology on my talk page for the period I went through of being overly sarcastic and nasty with trolls and bigots. -- Justanother 23:36, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
