USER:JTS1882 SANDBOX IOC BIRD LIST (COMMON NAMES)

This page contains a list of bird common names based on the IOC World Bird List (version 14.1).

The list is generated from the Excel files provided by the IOC master list page. Either the Master List or Life List+ file can be used.

Copy the commmon names column to column A of a new Excel sheet
Sort the column alphabetically to remove the blank lines
Make sure the first name is in cell A1
Paste the following code into cell B1: =CONCAT("*[[",A1,"]]")
Copy cell B1 into rest of column B
Copy and paste column B into a Wikipedia page (e.g. the section below)

Note

Most of the links are redirects because of differences in capitalisation used by Wikipedia and the IOC. These can be shown in green by adding the following code to your user commons.css file:
