Overview

Take the Interview ("TTI") is a cloud and mobile technology platform designed to solve the challenges of the interviewing process. The software platform automates, streamlines and standardizes the hiring process and provides analytics for advanced decision making so that organizations can hire better candidates faster. [3] [4] [5]

History

Take the Interview was originally founded by Danielle Weinblatt while at Harvard Business School [6]. In the first few months, several engineers were recruited and the entire team was based in Cambridge at DogPatch Labs run by Polaris Ventures. The Company saw early praise and success in Boston and ended up getting selected to join the highly selective accelerator program, DreamIt Ventures for their NYC 2011 class. [7] Additionally, they were selected to present that summer at Launch: Silicon Valley where the Company received second place in the software category losing only to the company, Steelhouse. After meeting with Ty Abernethy, the two kicked off the Company together in NYC in January of 2012. Anthony Cintron joined as the CTO that summer and the Company moved offices to Midtown West where they are still located. [8] TTI raised their Series A in 2013 from Rittenhouse Ventures and StarVest Partners. [9] A second office was opened in Belgrade in 2014. 3TS Capital Partners led Series B round in May 2016.

Product/Service

Take the Interview offers an all-in-one enterprise video interviewing solution, geared towards delivering interviews online and supporting the feedback and decision making that occurs after the interview is completed. [10] [11] [12] A sub service is TTI On-Demand: A one-way video interview which allows candidates to interview on their own time and present themselves as a real human vs just a voice over the phone or a resume. On-Demand typically replaces the first round recruiter phone interview and allows hiring organizations to transform a 45 minute process per candidate into a 5 minute per candidate review process. Hiring teams pre-define position-specific questions, similar to those that would be asked in a phone screen, the candidate answers these questions conveniently on their own time via video, recording the answers in a one by one format. [13] These answers are then reviewed by recruiters and hiring teams. TTI Live: A 2-way real-time conversation using the candidate and the Hiring Team’s web browsers. The interviews are recordable, gradable and sharable creating further standardization and structure as a backbone to the interview process.
