The Paradise Project was an attempt to develop a matrix-like virtual reality-based immortality using nanotechnology to facilitate dni.

The project began with the development of a primitive website in April 1995 and was abandoned in December 1995, having produced nothing but a modest collection of vr and nanotech-related links. The paucity of such links surviving a decade on the web is indicative of its inherently fragile nature (in contrast, see datapool and irl website).
