My name is Jill Duffy, and I'm a writer. I have a weekly column on PCMag.com called Get Organized about using technology to organize your life, and keeping your digital life better organized through simple tips, tricks, and information.

I also write about various topics related to technology. Many people call me a journalist. Others say I'm a features writer. And still others know me best someone who writes product reviews. I've written for PC Magazine, Popular Science, Gamasutra, and many other websites and print publications. I've also served as technical editor for a two books published by McGraw-Hill Professional: Pinterest Kickstart (2012) and iPhone 5 Kickstart (2012)

While I write primarily about technology, my educational background is in English literature and composition, with a little journalism thrown in for good measure. I'm also passionate about food and travel.

One of my roles as a technology writer is to make seeming complex subjects simpler to understand. Fundamentally, a lot of what I do is education. I help people bridge the gap when a subject seems intimidating. In 2012, I initiated a community group that encourages women to contribute to Wikipedia through informal working meetings in which participants learn about Wikipedia, set up a user account, figure out how to cite sources, edit pages, and write new content.
