Jamieson Xavier Jones (born on February 7, 1987), is an American producer and songwriter from Macon, Georgia. He has produced as well as written songs for artists such as B.O.B, Roscoe Dash, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and Taylor Swift among others. He is sometimes credited as Mister Xavier or Jay Jones.
Jones was born in Georgia but spent several years in Ft. Myers, FL. At a very young age he discovered a love for singing, melodies and harmonies, but never had any formal music training. At the tender age of 15, a friend introduced him to FL Studio. He started using the FL Studio (formerly Fruity Loops) beat making program as a launch pad for his musical passion. A few years later, Jones moved to ATL and enrolled in the Georgia Institute of Technology to pursue a degree in Industrial Engineering. While in college, he would go on to form a production and song-writing team called The Heroes with whom he still works today. In 2005, Jones met an up and coming rap group called The Klinic consisting of American rapper and producer B.O.B and his cousin. Jones would continue to work with the budding rapper when he co-wrote the song "Cool Side" on the B.o.B mixtape May 25th.
Influenced by producers ranging from Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis to southern producers Juicy J, Jones is known to incorporate heavy synthesizer-driven instrumentation in his beats backed by pulsing 808's and drums found in southern hip-hop. He currently uses Logic Pro 9 and the MPC2000 to make beats.
Jamieson Jones co-wrote and co-produced the song "Bobby Ray Bands", by B.o.B from his sophomore album Strange Clouds
2 Chainz, Bun B, Big K.R.I.T., Mos Def, TI, Keri Hilson, Playboy Tre, Z-Ro, Gorilla Zoe
