Can we also get examples or case studies to put opposition in context - that would also provide a better understanding. These examples could be both US domestic examples and international (if applicable). As there isn't much in this article to read, there isn't a lot to critique on, it just needs more of everything.
It would be advantageous to see examples within US politics of a moderate elite as well as moderate voting outcomes or arguments to better contextualize moderates in US politics. It would also be advantageous to see the other side of the argument on why political moderates may not exist in the United States. Additionally, more sources that may consider the minority perspective on moderate politics in the United States would be interesting and helpful. Overall, the expansion of sources and of broad statements in the article would be helpful.
This article almost discussed the issues or controversy that comes up with dog whistle rather than the dog whistling process, consequences, and outcomes for the involved parties. The examples are also some of the more volatile ones, providing a dog whistle that is more minor may lay a foundation for what dog whistling can be. I appreciate the racism brought up for dog whistling, and more foundational or contemporary shcolarship to further support this would be helpful.
