Average Annual Daily Traffic (AADT)

It is the average daily volume (24 hr) at a given location over a whole year. [1]

Average Annual Weekday Traffic (AAWT)

The average 24 hour volume occurring on weekdays for a whole year (365 days). [2]

Average Daily Traffic (ADT)

It is the average 24 hour volume at a given location over a defined time period less than a year. [3]

Average Weekday Traffic (AWT)

The average 24 hour weekday volume at a given location over a defined time period less than a year. [4]

Hourly Volumes

Peak Hour

The single hour of the day that has the highest hourly volume is referred to as the peak hour. [5]

Peak Hour Factor (PHF)

It is used to describe stability of volume distribution in an hour.

The maximum possible value for PHF is 1.
