Which article are you evaluating?

(Provide a link to the article here.) Dress history

Why you have chosen this article to evaluate?

(Briefly explain why you chose it, why it matters, and what your preliminary impression of it was.)

I choose this article beacuse style is always changing through out history and it's something that is always written in a biased way. For example what was trending in the time or the writers preference on what is stylish or not. At first glance you assume you will be learning about Dress history, like what was worn in certain eras and why did they end.

Evaluate the article

(Compose a detailed evaluation of the article here, considering each of the key aspects listed above. Consider the guiding questions, and check out the examples of what a useful Wikipedia article evaluation looks like.)

Lead Section

Definitely can identify by the first sentence that you will be learning about the study of Dress History. What methods they used to research it. The lead section is brief but tells you what to expect in the next section and it includes brief descriptions about what will be talked about like how textiles we're used to research.

Content

The content informs you on specific found in the lead section. It explains how things like cultural, political and economies played a huge rule in what people wore back then. It also explains how the research comes from other sources like gender studies or sociology.

Tone and Balance

The article viewpoint is very neutral in sense that every method stated in the lead section is talked about. All method which were stated about how to research were briefly explained how they were used and how it helped them study dress history.

Sources and References

These seem like very reliable sources, sources are in the same filed of career as the article like the Association of Dress Historians which is a very informational website. References are also cited from being current and some that go back to 1995.They also cited quite a couple of sources even though it was on the smaller side of articles. All links do work as well.

Organization and writing quality

This article was very well written straight to the point all though I do think paragraph two in the content section was not as easy to follow as the others. The last few sentences of the paragraph could've used better wording and gone into a bit more of detail.

Images and Media

All images are captioned and are positioned well next to paragraph is which they were mentioned. The pictures show the clothing and how they accessorized it they also picture textiles used and undergarments like the corest for one which were used to accessorize the wait back in that era.

Talk Page

This article is part of 3 WikiProjects which are Fashion , History and Textile all which were briefly discussed in the content section. The talk page had quite a lot of different things going on. They talk about military style but also others asking fo help to put an American Fashion style page.

Overall Impresions

It was a well put together article. They had many sources and they backed them up. They also were in WikiProjects and talk page seemed to been have reviewed by other and gave suggestions as well to input into the article.
