Hare is an arcade endless runner created by zelun. Originally released for Steam [1] and Newgrounds [2], Hare was completely remade from scratch by 2023. [3] Hare mixes old school arcade elements with the runner genre.

Gameplay

The player controls Ivan as he progresses through various stages, challenging the will of a divine entity. Following the standards of the genre, the player automatically moves forward against procedural obstacles, using the controller to adjust the speed and make jumps. Players can also use environmental boosters to finetune their movement.

At the conclusion of each stage, players are confronted with bosses that introduce novel ways to play and add a fresh layer of challenge to the game.

In the latest update of the game, players are now able to accumulate points, enhancing the arcade experience.

Release

The game was initially launched for Windows and web browsers, but subsequently received a Windows-exclusive remake. [3]

Reception

The game received acclaim from the renowned writer Alec Meer, who lauded it as "an endless runner as an actual adventure." [4]
