The Gloryhunter AKA Spencer Austin was born into poverty in Walthamstow in the mid 1970's to itinerant fortune telling gypsies. An albino, he overcame crippling shyness and an early addiction to Angel Delight to become The UK's first, foremost, trailblazing, unique, one and only, he-thought-of-it-first-so-there and as yet only Hunter of Glory. It is therefore fair to say that he (Spencer Austin) is 'The Gloryhunter'.
To hunt glory in the pure sense is as follows: To select a football team by random means (out of a hat, by throwing a dart at a map blindfolded, etc) and then support them as if they were your own team. The Gloryhunter must then do this until the selected team loses to another team, in which case he switches allienience to the victor, and soforth until the season ends.
It has been described by experts and commentators as 'The greatest football project ever', 'A existentialist take on chaos theory and self-determinism' and 'an utter waste of time'.
Current Status
Starting in the 2008/09 season The Gloryhunter chose some pub to do his first draw as it had something to do with football. He drew Grimsby Town. He is currently with Darlington FC who he describes as 'very nice'.
The Gloryhunter does not have a girlfriend.
