Option 1

Article title
Exxon Valdez oil spill
Article Evaluation
I think this article was well written, and generally has a neutral tone though it does comment on the severity of the disaster. Most claims have citations, and all of the citations I spot checked were working and accurate. One statement that felt like it was maybe reaching was under the contributing factors section. The article claims that the third mate potentially failed to maneuver the ship correctly due to fatigue. However, the citation for the statement is a US report that lists the officer's workload at the time, backing up the claim to a reasonable degree. Additionally, the article tackles one of Wikipedia's equity gaps, by discussing the impact on indigenous communities. I think there was room for more in this section, but there is at least mention of it. There is a brief section at the end of the article drawing a comparison to the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico that does not have a citation attached.

[1] Article that goes more into depth on the indigenous communities in Chenega, Alaska, as well as the impacts on the subsistence economy.: [2] Article that explores BP's response to the Deepwater Horizon spill and has sourced claims of the company denying responsibility. Would improve the issue I mentioned above.

Option 2

Article title
Fracking
Article Evaluation
I think this would be a good article to review because it is a level 5 vital article but is only rated C-class. It is of interest to several WikiProjects, so there is lots of room for improvement here. There is not a lot going on on the Talk page, so it doesn't seem there's a lot of active interest in improving this article. There are 8 different claims throughout the article that are followed by [citation needed]. I think there is also room for improvement of equity gaps coverage under the Health Risks section. For example, the article mentions the impacts of fracking on groundwater, but does not discuss the disproportionate impacts this may have on lower income populations. A section could be added outside of this discussing the location of fracking operations and surrounding property values. I added a note on the Talk page about this idea. See link below.:: Talk:Fracking#Demographics of Fracking:

[3] Source that provides a citation for existing claim in article about Australia banning fracking.: [4] Paper that does a spatial analysis on fracking, examines "socio-economic characteristics of people living close to fracking activity"

Option 3

Article title
Tengiz Field
Article Evaluation
I wanted to pick an article that was at a different stage of its life to see what improvements may be necessary compared to other, more complete articles. This one about an oil field in Kazakhstan is rated as start class. There is a claim in the Environmental Concerns section about the government imposing restrictions on sulfur handling that needs a citation. There is definitely room for improvement here in addressing an equity gap, since there is not much information on the abusive labor practices that have taken place at this oil field. I found a source with more information on this below. There is nothing on the Talk page about this, so I may add something if I move forward with editing this article.
