Killer activation receptor

Why you have chosen this article to evaluate?

I chose this article to evaluate because I am very interested on how the Killer activation receptor and how it allows natural killer cells to function in the immune system. I believe this is very important to understand how immune cells react when introduced to an infection in the body. A better understanding on how the body functions to fight off diseases leads to better treatment for said diseases and others as well. My first impression of this article was that it had very few sources and some are not as recent as others.

Evaluate the article

  • I suggest in the introduction adding a little snit bit about what the article is going to talk about such as morphology, physiology, and cancer treatment.
  • I suggest spitting the little note about confusion about the KIR acronym into its own category. It seems too different then the information stated previously in the introduction.
  • I noticed that there ar not many references to the article. There are many paragraphs that do no have a reference to them. What i would suggested is to start off finding a reference for each paragraph and building up from there.
  • I also notice out of the 3 resources one of them is fairly recent the others were from about 20 years ago. So I suggest on trying to find more recent references and they might even give more insight on the importance of KARs
  • There is some wording suggestions I have to make some sentences flow easier. For instance instead of "these two kinds of specific receptors" I suggest putting " these receptors".
  • I also notice a lot of scientific terms in this paper that maybe the average reader may not understand. I suggest tagging those in papers or wiki articles that define what the word means such as "morphological". The same can be done with some of the abbreviations that are not tagged.
  • I suggest making sure the figures are cited if they came from a source. I found it hard to figure out what source they came from without searching the source.
  • I suggest maybe placing a table under the types of KARs to organize the information and make it easier to see. Plus add a description and explain what each abbreviation means when talking about cell types.
  • I suggest giving possible examples of stress molecules that KARs bind to when interacting with cancers.
  • I suggest adding a figure showing how KARs is used when a NK cell attacks a cancer cell.
  • I suggest adding any discovery or cancer treatments where KARs plays a role.
