History

Originally named the Australian Vee Eight Supercar Company (AVESCO), it was founded in 1997. In 2005 it changed its name to V8 Supercars Australia to make it more identifiable with the sport. [1] [2]

Structure

V8SA is run by a eight member board. Four representing the competing teams, two representing Sports Entertainment Limited (SEL) and two independent directors.
