WDSP-DB "101.9 Fox FM" is an American Internet Only Radio Station. Unlike all other Internet radio stations in the area, WDSP-DB actually broadcasts locally from Myrtle Beach, SC as a "live and local" radio station with a radio studio located within the city and with live people on-site 24 hours daily.

History

The station started in 1996, as Kiss 102 and was founded in Vale, NC. The station was later hit by lightning and was replaced by a more reliable computer. On March 1st, 2000, The station was later renamed and re-branded as Rock 102. At that time it did not carry any programming as it was an automated only station.

On March 1st, 2003, just three years after the re-branding, Deep South Media Group was formed and the station was removed off the air and went silent. On July 4th, 2003, Deep South Media Group, turned the station back on and re-named and re-branded the station, 101.9 Fox FM. With shows like, The Big Dumb Fun Show, The Wild Wild Westmar Show, Nightwatch Show, The Lace Show Radio Networks, Daily Noize, The King Hesh Radio Show, Spankwagon, Carnage Wrestling Radio, and The Stitch and Midnight Show, the station began to grow and form.

Fox held its first three concert events, Fox Fest, Foxmas Ball, Fox Fest 2. Each in Burlington and Raleigh, NC respectively and raised money for local and national charities, including Toys for Tots and others.

On March 1st, 2010, the station changed to a more Metal format and began airing more independent music from bands across the world.

On November 11th, 2012, The station switched to automation and has remained.

On January 9th, 2013, Deep South Media Group voted to move the station from Myrtle Beach, SC to a more permanent site.
