In early January 2017 Waters uploaded a 12-second video of him working in the studio, playing bass to a then-unidentified track [1].
"Smell the Roses" is a progressive rock song with a sound reminiscent of Pink Floyd's 1970s albums Animals and Wish You Were Here.
