The documentary tells the story of the complex relationship between the iconic footballer George Best and his only son Calum Best. Calum defined this experience as therapeutic [2], because helped him to solve his alcohol problems.

Synopsis

George Best died in 2005. Blessed with good looks and heir to the Best celebrity status, his son Calum has indulged in many of his famous father’s excesses. He has experienced highs and lows, being both lauded and then criticized by the UK press. Approaching his mid-thirties Calum had to face an identity crisis. Calum has gradually become more and more uncomfortable with the fact that a surname made famous by a man he knows nothing about has had such an influence on his life, both positive and negative. Ten years after his father death, the filmmaker Luigi Maria Perotti, convinces Calum to embark on a journey to discover who his father really was. During their journey they discover a certain truth not only about George, but also about Calum. There is more to the latter man than just the shiny playboy persona described by the media, throughout this journey Calum discovers as much about himself as about his father. In a remarkably cathartic process, Calum finds a certain resolution by the end of the documentary, and one that will aim to give him a truer sense of who he is and an insight into where he sees himself in the future.
