I have found Help:Math#Equation numbering. This looks even more specifically designed for math than {{ anchor}}s above. As far as I understand {{ NumBlk}} just formats (the name is a bit misleading), while {{ EquationRef}} inserts a label which is named manually. This can be also done without {{ EquationRef}} and {{ EquationNote}}. It seems that the only reason to use {{ EquationRef}} and {{ EquationNote}} is that they auto-insert hyperlink. Anyway, thank you. I am learning new things every day.
