Sleep Like a Tiger, written by Mary Logue and illustrated by Pamela Zagerenski, is a 2012 picture book published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Sleep Like a Tiger is a Caldecott Medal Honor in 2013. This story is the only work that Mary Logue and Pamela Zagernski have together, but they do have different works Mary Logue has another Caldecott award winning story called Red Sings from the Treetops.

On the cover of Sleep Like A Tiger it shows the little girl and the strong tiger, who appears to be fast asleep. The tiger and the little girl are both wearing crowns, also the little girl seems to be holding and cuddled up with a stuffed tiger and the tiger is cuddling with a doll. The story takes place in a night time,and cozy setting in the little girls bedroom. Also the setting of this book is in her imagination, throughout the story she imagines her self with different type of animals. The book contains 40 pages with short text written by Mary Louge and also very well drawn pictures to match the written text illustrated by Pamela Zagarenski. The audience of this book is intended for children ages 4-8. This books is a Caldecott Honor winner for Red Sings from Treetops.

Sleep Like A Tiger tells a story about a little girl who is choosing not to go to sleep. She tells her parents that she isn't going to go to sleep. Her parents were ok with it as long as she follow her bedtime routine. The little girl being curious as she lays in bed she asks her parents "does everything in the world need to go to sleep?" she goes on asking about these different type of animals asking if they need to sleep. she does know of one animal that according to her sleeps a lot and also needs sleep to stay strong, which is a tiger. As she lay in her bed she compares her self with some of the animals that her and her parents mention that do sleep and they way they sleep. when she mentions and compares her self to the strong tiger the little girl falls fast asleep.

Sleep Like A Tiger received some decent reviews. Washington Post reviews stated "Set against Caldecott Honor medalist Pamela Zagarenski's gloriously soft-toned dreamscapes of moons and stars and toys and towns, the lyrical text magnifies the magical mood. — Kristi Elle Jemtegaard
