misspelling of Mary McCormack in credits of a west wing episode. Phoentetic " m:mick" is transphoneticized. "somebody somewhere's in-joke" I can't help but think. what if it were a "secret-open" message to anyone observant? what message does a transphoneticized "mick" send, then? I picture the credits guy hear's "mick" and doesn't seem familiar enough with names that end in " m:mack" to guess that this is one. a correct spelling was assumed by the speaker? or by the credits guy/listener? obviously there's a spellcheck step in there somewhere. was it skipped? was this misspelling let through intentionally or simply missed? who really cares when you really think about it, dough.
