Anchor North is an American indie pop Band formed in 2012 at Houston, Texas. It currently consists of Tanner Bishop (lead vocals, electric guitar), Andy Gray (drums), Greg Graves (bass guitar, backing vocals), Connor Inglish (electric guitar), and David Torres (synthesizers).
The group reached the #4 spot in Spotify's Global Viral 50 Chart for a collaboration cover of "Rivers and Roads" by The Head and The Heart with the band Drop Out Vegas in April 2017.
Anchor North was started in 2012 by members Tanner Bishop, Andy Gray, Joe Molina, and Greg Graves in The Woodlands, Texas. After playing in an old storage unit where they would hangout with friends on the weekends, they quickly decided to start a band and write their own music. Over the next few months, they wrote and recorded an EP. In early 2013, they released that EP and started playing shows around Texas. They then toured through the U.S. in the summer of 2013. After members moving apart for different reasons, they decided to take a break to pursue other things. In 2014, Andy, Tanner, and Greg decided to write and record together again with the help of new member, David Torres. After a year of recording and playing shows, they released a full length album (Tear This Down). Through playing festivals and shows all around Texas from 2015 to 2017, Anchor North has had many live members in the process. Early 2017, Connor Inglish joined the group on lead electric guitar. In September of 2017, they released another EP, ‘Idle // Fable.’ They are now working on another EP and are set to play at Houstons In Bloom Festival in March of 2018.
Wrong, Slope Haul, and Young recorded with James Scheffert and Wes Arvin at Jordan Soundworks in The Woodlands, Texas. Mixed by Steven Shook and Mastered by Joe Hutchinson in Nashville, Tennessee. Guitars done by Tanner Bishop and Kenny Minor, drums and percussion done by Andy Gray, vocals done by Tanner Bishop, bass done by Greg Graves, keys/synths done by David Torres, saxophone done by Keith Malonson.
