Katelynne Cox (born June 28, 1994) is an American Christian teen pop musician originating from Portland, Oregon. [1] Cox has released two EP independently and one full-length album on her label, Red Hammer Records. [1]
Katelynne Cox was born on June 28, 1994. [2]
Before her career as a recording artist, Katelynne Cox was a child model and a talent show act. [3] As a child model, Cox won more than 75 state and national modeling titles, [4] including Miss Washington Pre-Teen in 2006. [3] [4] She also won the Apple Blossom Idol in 2007 [3] and National Miss American Jr. Teen Victory in 2009. [4]
Cox grew up with a myriad of problems, including divorced parents and becoming the target of bullies at her school. [5] Though some of these problems, such as her parents' divorce, took place when she was very young, the majority took place when Cox was in high school. [5] Some of the actions that the school bullies took were stealing her cheerleading uniform to prevent her from cheering in a major sports event, calling her names, and tackling her. [5]
Katelynne Cox began professionally recording music in 2008 with the release of her debut record, Unbelievable, which was released independently on September 5, 2008. [6] The EP contained one song, "Got a Feeling," to which a video was made. [7]
