Bengali poet Fakir Lalon Shah: Oral poetry and tradition in the social context of contemporary Bangladesh is a research based book written by M Shahinoor Rahman. [1] [2] He wrote the book by researching the thoughts, consciousness and beliefs of Mahatma Lalan Sai. The book is an important book on the philosophy of Lalon Shah, which is included in the syllabus of the Bangladeshi Universities such as Folklore department of Islamic University Kushtia. [3] [4] The book is published by Indiana University, USA and it was published in 1999. [5] A digitized online version of the book was released in 2009.
Lalan Sai brought the torch of light to the world against the turmoil, chaos, all these things are discussed in this book. The book discusses in detail the differences in Lalan's religious beliefs. Lalan was indifferent to traditional religion in real life as well. [6] Fakir Lalon Shah's personal life, family life, social life are discussed in this book. [7] This book explains why Lalan spoke of being humanistic above all social life. Shahinoor Rahman said in this book, because Fakir Lalon knew and understood, he mentioned many things about people and humanism in his songs.
