John Leslie McKeown (born July 31, 1956) is an organizational development consultant based in Marblehead, Massachusetts. He is the author of Retaining Top Employees, a briefcase book released by McGraw-Hill in 2002 [1] and of the upcoming book Predictable Success: Getting Your Orgnanization Back on the Growth Track and Keeping it There, scheduled for release in 2010 by Greenleaf Publishing.

History

McKeown was born in Northern Ireland and was awarded the Samual Smyth Memorial Prize as a Chartered Accountant (CPA) in the UK and claims, at that time, to have been the youngest qualified Chartered Accountant in the UK. [2]

He spent a brief period at the London office of Price Waterhouse (now PWC) before returning to Ireland to form his own accounting and consulting practice. [2]

He left the accounting practice and became a serial entrepreneur, starting a wide range of businesses including the Irish franchise of Pizza Hut [3] and an art gallery. Shortly after selling the PIzza Hut franchise he co-founded a new business incubation, training and development company, Euroventure, which grew to a 13-office worldwide organization before he sold his share to his partner in 1998. [2]

In 1999, McKeown relocated to the US, initially to Northern California and then, in 2004, to Marblehead, Massachusetts. From there he writes, teaches and consults on the area of organizational and business development and growth.

Predictable Success

McKeown's teachings are based around a methodology he developed called Predictable Success [3] which states that every organization will go through several predictable stages in its development. The goal being to bring to and keep an organization in the stage called Predictable Success, were the organization can more efficiently and effectively set and attain its goals. [4]

This methodology forms the basis of his blog, Predictable Success, and is the focus of his upcoming book, Predictable Success: Getting Your Organization Back on the Growth Track and Keeping it There.
