History

FlatPress began in 2006 by Edoardo Vacchi (NoWhereMan) who was then using SimplePHPBlog decided to create his own blogging engine. Working with Hydra (aka SamyWeb) and Drudo, FlatPress was born. Text files were used to take advantage of free web hosts offering PHP support. This allowed for quickly moving the blog site from one server to another without having to deal with complicated export/import procedures; just ftp download and re-upload.

Since then, it has become very popular on web hosts offering PHP support. A few reviews [4] [5] [6] of FlatPress describe it as a database-less version of Wordpress.

Support
