My name is David Campbell. I was born in
1964 in
Santa Rosa, California. I have lived in the
San Francisco Bay Area my entire life. I went to high school at
Buchser High School which was consolidated with and changed its name to
Santa Clara High during my senior year (1982), so I am a Santa Clara High graduate. I attended
UC Berkeley during the 1982-1983 school year but went no further.
I currently live in
San Francisco, California, in the
Noe Valley neighborhood. A word processor by trade, most of my edits consist of spelling, punctuation and grammatical corrections (since that's what I do for a living), with occasional substantive contributions.
I am a
strong agnostic, a
weak atheist, and a
secular humanist - I don't believe in the supernatural (including deities), believe it is impossible by definition to prove anything one way or the other about the supernatural, and place my faith in humanity.
Brushes with greatness: Introduced
Hugh Masekela on behalf of the Campaign Against Apartheid on the steps of
Sproul Hall at
UC Berkeley in 1986. Spoke on behalf of the Campaign Against Apartheid between opening act The Looters and headliners
Ladysmith Black Mambazo at
Zellerbach Auditorium at UC Berkeley in 1987. Bought a drink for
Utah Phillips at The Dovre Club after one of his appearances at the Women's Building in San Francisco, the year before The Women's Building evicted The Dovre Club from its location in the corner of the building.
