Venngage is a Canadian online infographic editing platform. The application specifically caters to users with little or no prior design experience. [1]

Venngage was created as an offshoot of "Vizualize.me", a similar application launched in 2011 that integrates with LinkedIn to create a visual resumé.[ citation needed]

History

In 2011, Eugene Woo founded "Vizualize.me", which simplified the process of designing a visual resumé. Following rise of the platform's popularity, Woo noted that users were interested in being able to create infographics for business use beyond resumés.[ citation needed]

In July of 2012, Eugene Woo and Lucas Walker founded Venngage as an expanded application of Vizualize.me's services. [2] The company joined the Jolt accelerator program at the not-for-profit MaRS Discovery District charitable trust in Toronto, where Woo and Walker took on the roles of chief executive officer and chief marketing officer, respectively. [3]

Reception

Venngage has received praise for its platform, both in its stylistic capacities for data visualization, and accessibility as a freemium model. [4] Specifically, the application offers two premium plans, as well as a range of its content being available for free; discounted plans are offered for students and non-profit members. [5]

Venngage has gained additional popularity for its professional curation of original infographics. It has produced several viral designs, having compiled data on the impracticality of Twitter hashtags, interpersonal relationships within the HBO television series Game of Thrones, and market research, such as influencer networking and in-demand marketing skills. [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11]
