Nike has sponsored the most influential athletes such as Ronaldinho, Kylian Mbappé and Michael Jordan. The first every Nike sponsorship was of Steve Prefontaine, where Prefontaine would wear and endorse Nike wear to those who support him. Today, Nike shows their appreciation for Prefontaine they have built a headquarters name Steve Prefontaine Building that is located in Seattle, Washington.

Nike has endorsed many other athletes such as Neymar, Tiger Woods, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant and LeBron James. With these endorsement, fans are more inclined to purchase items that they see their favorite athlete wear.

In addition to athlete sponsorships, Nike also sponsors major athletic programs such as Penn State University. In light of the sexual abuse scandal at Penn State, Nike has worked to remove Joe Paterno Children Care Center.

Tennis has been the sport to receive the most endorsements from Nike. Serena Williams is an athlete that is sponsored by Nike and has been the face of many advertisements that have touched on Women Rights, Discrimination and Inclusivity in sports.

Not only does Nike provide garments for athletes to wear, but they are also major providers of gold clubs, tennis rackets, soccer and basketballs.
