![]() | Evaluate an article
Complete your article evaluation below. Here are the key aspects to consider: Lead sectionA good lead section defines the topic and provides a concise overview. A reader who just wants to identify the topic can read the first sentence. A reader who wants a very brief overview of the most important things about it can read the first paragraph. A reader who wants a quick overview can read the whole lead section.
ContentA good Wikipedia article should cover all the important aspects of a topic, without putting too much weight on one part while neglecting another.
Tone and BalanceWikipedia articles should be written from a neutral point of view; if there are substantial differences of interpretation or controversies among published, reliable sources, those views should be described as fairly as possible.
Sources and ReferencesA Wikipedia article should be based on the best sources available for the topic at hand. When possible, this means academic and peer-reviewed publications or scholarly books.

Overall impressions
Examples of good feedbackA good article evaluation can take a number of forms. The most essential things are to clearly identify the biggest shortcomings, and provide specific guidance on how the article can be improved. |
Vegetarianism by country:
I chose this article because I think there are many benefits of being vegetarian. While I have yet to fully commit to this dietary lifestyle myself, I have many family members who do. Although it is easy for us in America due to the wide range of cuisine options we have here, I am curious if the same is applicable in China. Furthermore, I think veganism is one tangible way of addressing the climate crisis that China is currently facing. My primary impression of this article was that it focuses well enough on the roots of veganism in China, but I do not know much about present day contexts to understand how prominent veganism is in China.
Online Advertising in China:
I chose this article because I think that advertisement plays a big role in China's consumerism. I want to explore how they advertise, to what groups advertisements are made for, and how online advertisement is related to the pop culture industry.
Fan economy:
I chose this article because I am very interested in Chinese pop culture and its entertainment industry. In recent years, I found myself also attracted to products that were endorsed by Chinese idols. I believe that with more idols advertising products, it heightens consumerism in China.
Vegetarianism by country:
Lead Section: I think the lead section is very broad because it covers multiple countries. It only focuses on India as a particular country because India has an overwhelming large population of vegetarians/vegans. The summary is very short and doesn't actually define what being vegetarian/vegan is.
Content: The content focuses primarily on the cultural attitude of the Chinese towards vegetarianism. The information is relevant, but not entirely specific to what I am curious about - the growth of vegetarianism and what types of options there are in China. The content also focuses on historical attitudes rather than modern day attitudes.
Tone & Balance: I think the article was written with a neutral tone.
Organization: There are no subsections so there is room for better organization. The current information is concise and easy to read.
Images: There are no images for China's section specifically.
Talk page: There is no relevant discussion pertaining to vegetarianism in China.
Overall impressions:
Online Advertising in China
Lead Section: This is the most helpful part of the article because it lists many mediums through which online advertising can be conducted.
Content: The content of each section is very short, with little explanation of how well these mediums of advertising do or what kind of prominent advertising they had successfully done.
Tone and Balance: There is a lot of data being reported without much explanation to the context. The tone is neutral.
Organization: The different mediums are nicely sectioned off, but they could be further developed.
Images: There are no images for this article.
Talk page: There is no relevant discussion on what should be added to this article.
Overall impressions:
Fan Economy
Lead Section: I think this lead is very clear on the definition of fan economy and what its special characteristics are. However, there can be more concrete details as to what defines a fan and how this contributes to China's economic growth. They also do not talk about the types of idols or merchandise that can be attractive to fans.
Content: The content seems very neutral but not very well sourced or explained.
Tone and Balance: I think the tone does not sound very professional, though the content sounds like it is being expressed neutrally.
