Hi, my name is Christiaan Kooyman. I was born in
Hengelo, the
Netherlands, where I studied ecology at the Agricultural University of
Wageningen (nowadays
Wageningen University and Research Centre). After my Master's graduation I moved to
Africa, where I have worked ever since in many countries (countries of residence:
Nigeria,
Kenya,
Sudan,
Niger,
Benin,
Senegal and
Morocco). Most of my jobs involved aspects of
entomology. Since 1996, I consider myself an
entomopathologist (
insect
pathologist). My current job is technical advisor in the R&D department of the
biopesticide and
biofertilizer company ÉLÉPHANT VERT, based in
Meknès, Morocco. I am acting head of the bio-
insecticide section, where we develop products containing
entomopathogenic fungi.
