The founder, Bonny Belanger, was an active Member of Belize Organic Producers Association (BOPA), and a contributor to the BOPA Newsletter. She also assisted with the organization's organic certification scheme in its very early development.
Hosting various information sessions in Belize, as well as visiting heads of state (including Gabino Canto, Belize Vice Minister of Agriculture), the founder's message was far reaching. Twice, her work, along with interviews, were featured on local television station Plus TV - Belize News, specifically highlighting the potential negative outcomes of GMO's (genetically modified organisms). These views were reflected in her work as she strove to make Your Certified Organic Products synonymous with support for organic agriculture both in Belize and elsewhere. Genetically modified crops are currently not lawful in Belize.
