I'm working on a project see if I can find a cure for Ichthyophthirius multifiliis . It is a terrible fish parasite that attacks fish in a mercyless way. Like some people have done to me. -Horseshoe shaped nucleus. -Five stage life cycle. -Looks like grains of salt on fish. -Medications include malachite green and formalin. -Salt can kill ich when it is at a certain level in the tank. -Some medications can kill loaches and catfish. -When ich is in its later stages fatalities can be expected. -Signs can be seen on fins, eyes, gills, and scales. -Salt can reverse the effects of ich.
