People with a near-drowning experience who have normal oxygen levels and no respiratory symptoms should be observed in a hospital environment for a period of time to ensure there are no delayed complications. [1]

“If the person has poor oxygen saturation or in acute respiratory distress, care should be started with supplementary oxygen to maintain a target saturation of 94-98%. Thanks for sharing your proposed article improvements.

  • I made a few copy edits to your first sentence.
  • Can you expand your sentence "they should be released with education"? Since Wikipedia is written for a general audience, I think that this section could be re-worded for clarity. You could also change the wording of "well oxygenated".
  • Can you replace "victim" with "person as per WP:MEDMOS. We avoid the use of patient/victim etc.
  • You may also be able to re-word "they" to "the person with hyperthermia, for example.

Great work so far! Thank you again for all your hard work here. I look forward to seeing your groups article improvements. JenOttawa ( talk) 18:19, 15 November 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for posting - suggest changing "for a few hours" as this is pretty vague. Maybe "People with a near-drowning experience who have normal oxygen levels and no respiratory symptoms should be observed in a hospital environment for a period of time to ensure there are no delayed complications." Agree that "they should be released with education" is somewhat unclear. Is the second part necessary or adding anything? HeatherMurray Queen's ( talk) 18:39, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
