In 1972, Vin started his own business, Business Research Services, with $100 borrowed from a local Nebraska bank. The name was soon changed to American Business Information. He ordered all of the nation's available Yellow Page directories and compiled his first list, mobile home dealers. For the next 13 years, at substantial demand from small-business customers, Vin and his associates compiled and categorized the entirety of the United States Yellow Pages directories. In the years following its IPO in 1993, American Business Lists underwent a number of changes.
In August 2008, Vin retired from his post as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of his prominent database marketing company, leaving behind his legacy of hands-on leadership and measurable performance.
Since then, Vin has returned to his entrepreneurial roots to found Infofree [2]. Vin continues to help small businesses promote their marketing efforts and offers databases of quality information and sales leads to help entrepreneurs, like himself, grow their sales.
