Ash-throated flycatchers have been found to be negatively affected by abundant amount of noise. Increasing the amount of noise in the environment directly impacts their stress levels, decreasing their baseline corticosterone and increasing the acute stressor-induced corticosterone levels, especially in nestlings, birds that are unable to leave their nest (Kleist 2018). Abnormal noise levels can decrease the ash-throated flycatcher’s listening range within its territory (Kleist 2016)
