ARJUN PRASAD Author Arjun Prasad Hindi 'लेखक' अर्जुन प्रसाद 14 December 1961. He is a Senior Translator of English and Hindi and Hindi-English and one of the prominent fiction and nonfiction writer of Hindi and English literature. His parent were landless agricultural labour/ majdoor and his father was a halwaha of a brahman family because his grandfather was moved from banhaita, Gorakhpur to Hariharpur, Basti,UP after left his parental family and agricultural lands with a big garden of mangos. There were many agricultural lands with a big mango garden but a dishonest cunning brahman of the village made all his name by dishonesty. In this way his grandfather become landless and poor. At the age of only 10 he also become a majdoor (child labour). At the age of 18 his father died in the age of 50-52. in the year 1980. At that time he was started sdudying in 2nd year.His mother was miser lady.so she was not like ready to provide higher education. He complete B.A. by his own efferts and hardworking as a majdoor. Early influences : He used to aancestral house in Basti and as a child he was influenced by many literary articles published in the Hindi and English books as short storie3s. His teachers were also influenced him by many ways and as the result he become honest, truthful, hardworker. All the villagers loved and liked him. They used to say that onday he must be a great man. He started writing in the very early age. He was one of the regular member of the school debate team. In his adolescent he started .writing short stories and started stories in literally group. He is also wrote many stories of his village and nearby him.

Delhi and inclination towards prose He moved to Delhi to search any job after the death of his father.He got associated with Delhi Public Library and with stalwarts of Hindi literature like Munshi Premchand, Jaishankar Prasad, Suryakant Tripahti Nirala, Achaya Ramchandra Shukla, Fadishwar Nath Renu, Nagarjun, Sumitranandan Pant, Ramvriksh Benipuri, Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, Sachchidanand Hiranand Vatsyayan ageyay, Kanhaiya Lal Mishra Prabhakar, Mahadevi verma, Makhanlal Chatuvedi, Rahul Sanskrityayan, Bhagwati Charan Verma, Jainendra Kumar, Hajari Prasad Dvedi and Pratap Narayan Mishra, Harishankar Parsai, Dr. Ramkumar Verma, Ganesh shankar Viddyarthi] Balkrishna Bhatta etc.During that time he wrote many stories based on real life of the society..

Mumbai and focus on cosmopolitant life After stay in Delhi for few years he moved to Mumbai to Join Railways and after joining the railways he started writing stories about the life of Mumbai. He wrote there a many strange story of Monkeyman. C.I.D. and Jurmana etc. After two years he moved to Agra Cantt. on request transfer in the office of D.R.M. Agra. He wrote many stories there too.and started to associated with railwys,s magazines. His stories and articles were started published in the various magazines.. He wrote there Atankwad ka Nasur-Pakistan. And his first short stories book Gumarah tatha anya kahaniyan got published from Hindi Book Centre New Delhi and 2nd stories book Guardbabu also published from Janvani Prakashan Delhi. His ist book Gumarah tatha anya kahaniyan got Munshi Premchand Ist award 2008. His Style of writing He is the master of writing satire, short stories and brings light to some of the common events happening around us.His writing focuses only towards the common man,s problems in one hand different types of villagers behavior and in second hand like supper fast life of metropolitans human relation, corruption, social discrimination, dishonesty, poverty, Characters of police and armymen, railways,s passengers, relations among husbands and wives, son and father, brothers, cunning person, cruellity of a man against a poorman, Lier, cheater, corrupt persos, wiseman, kind,humble and gentleman, the person who dosen,t abide by rules and law, unknowa person of government rules and regulations, government officer,s characters, terrorism, different between illiterate and educated person and government policies and he also focused on different aspect and play of nature of the human being (preachers don,t follow what they preach).He is able to connect people with his writing works. 'Translation' He has devoted equal time in high quality translating English to Hindi as personnel, commercial, electrical, signal and telecommunication, traffic, engineering, accounts, safty and mechanical departments of Indian Railway,s rules and manuals alongwith Railway Board and various railway divisions and zones. He got many awards by Divisional Railway Managers and General Managers. He also got award by the C.T.B. New Delhi.
