I have had a Wikipedia account longer than
User:Example. I have done a decent amount of basic/minor editing on Wikipedia over the years while not logged in.
Reasons I have done those edits while not logged in include:
I think people should be able to edit Wikipedia while not logged in.
It has gotten increasingly harder to make simple edits over the years. (I get it. Bots. Spam. Vandalism.)
At one point, I was on a network that had been banned and literally could not make edits without logging in. Or, if I theoretically could have, the process to do so was byzantine. So, I just didn't make the edits.
I have had edits that I put a lot of time into (and did right) reverted instead of a simple repair being made.
