Description of my Contribution

My contribution has started by reading the FAQ inside the page of our project, which were based on what we have learned during Heritage and ICT lectures. I have chosen to translate articles from Italian to English to add new info in the English page. In my opinion, as English is considered to be a “Lingua Franca”, its presence is really important.

The English Wikipedia pages related to my topics lacked of some interesting info and so I started to translate them from Italian and added some photographs.

First of all I registered in Wikipedia (Please find my user page here: [[ User: aliuni1998]] ), so that every time I login in I open my profile. I did a short introduction of myself saying who I am and which course of study I am attending. So, I started the translation by clicking on edit. The language I have used is HTML (source editing instead of visual) because I wanted to get more and more involved in this project, even if it was more difficult. This because there is a special code to write that I learnt by heart. For example, before and after writing a title, we have to insert the symbol “==”.

But you can also use the normal keyword and it could be much easier.

At the end I added a comment in the discussion page (talk) of all my articles to let the community know my contribution. There you can find lots of discussions.

Translation and adding (heritage): STELVIO PASS:

Also in this article I added new sections (Stelvio national Park,Geographical framework, itineraries, refuge, geology)with contents translated from an interesting book in Italian, after having checked the accuracy of the already existing information. Of course (for reasons of copyright) I wrote the text with my own words.  A photograph, taken from Wikimedia commons, have been added thanks to its open license, in order to make the article's structure more exhaustive.

Please find here the images I have added:

·      File:Iberian Wolf AdF 001.jpg

Further, I've provided some references (after having verified their accuracy). Here the book:

·       Stefano Ardito. Sentieri dello Stelvio.I tre versanti di un Parco.

Translation and adding (monument): TREVI FOUNTAIN:

Please find available the link to the improved article here: /info/en/?search=Trevi_Fountain

Also in this article I added new sections (Origin of the name, the Roman aqueducts, restaoration )with contents translated from an interesting PDF article in Italian, after having checked the accuracy of the already existing information. Of course (for reasons of copyright) I wrote the text with my own words.

This is a well-known topic and so I tried to add something to take the attention and curiosity  of my readers, by adding info that can be interesting and attractive. A photograph, taken from Wikimedia commons, have been added thanks to its open license, in order to show better the imagine I am speaking of.

Please find here the images I have added:

Also in this article I added a new section (Place of religious interest, into the nature, Covid pandemic, mayor reassurance) with contents translated from an interesting book in Italian that I bought, after having checked the accuracy of the already existing information.

I suggest to everyone to buy this book to help Nembro with the collected money. Preghiera per nembro. Fotographs of  Marco Quaranta, guy Chiappaventi (2021). . ISBN 9788868817619. £15.00
