Born in Münster (Germany), studied music and musicology at the University of Hildesheim (1984–90) and Trinity College Dublin (1987–88), Dipl.-Kulturpäd. (1990), Dr. phil. (1995). Lives in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, since 2011.
Expert in Irish musical history including links to other countries, in particular the United Kingdom, France and the United States
As a classical guitarist with an interest in 19th and early 20th-century guitar music I have also come to edit a few articles on guitar composers.
Finally, as I delved into French musical history recently with a number of Franco-Irish figures I came to edit a small number of France-related articles as well, particularly harpists who had visited Ireland in the 19th century, in the course of which I also created the category "Composers for harp".

I edited numerous articles, inserting wikilinks to "my" pages, where useful. Mostly these are too small or unimportant to mention here. The following articles, however, have been substantially edited, by which I mean I expanded them considerably, sometimes restructured them, provided lists of compositions, lists of commercial recordings, bibliographies, etc.
I've edited quite a few already but started a series of creating new articles in March 2020. See also the page I created about the
Society for Musicology in Ireland (SMI).
