My reason for joining Wikipedia was to get more privileges to help me to edit and create articles relating to the North Staffordshire Railway. As it happens, I am a volunteer at Cheddleton railway station on the Churnet valley Railway in Staffordshire near Leek. The CVR is a preserved line, 5.25 miles in length with plans to extend. It runs through a beautiful valley alongside the Cauldon canal.
