James Brownlee Hunter (c. 1856 - 10 April 1928) was a Scottish painter. [1] [2]

Life

His father was George Hunter (1827 - 1 September 1893) from Carluke, a clerk at the General Register House. [3]

His mother was Margaret Ferguson Train (c. 1825 - 11 November 1905) from Liberton in Midlothian. George and Margaret married on 23 July 1855 in Edinburgh.

James Brownlee Hunter was born c. 1856 in Edinburgh.

He married Janet Hamilton Wilson in 1897 in Edinburgh.
