His mother was Mary Craig Stewart (1873 - 1953). James and Mary married on 19 June 1903 in Earlston.
James Henderson was born on 4 January 1908 in North Berwick. [3]
He married the artist Nan Fergusson on 15 July 1937 in Dumfries. [4]
He became an art teacher at Galashiels Academy. [5]
He moved on to George Watson's Ladies College in Edinburgh. [6]
He died on 22 December 2007 at Kelso Hospital. [7]
