Quiana Lynell is a mother, a blues, funk, r&B, jazz, gospel vocalist. She is also composer, songwriter, band leader, educator, private vocal coach, and arranger. Early life

Quiana was born and raised in Texas. She grew up in a gospel environment.

Career

Lynell sings many genres; blues, jazz, r&b, gospel, funk, and soul. She is also a classically trained vocalist. She is known to add storytelling to her delivery of a song. Quiana has focussed on the music of Sarah Vaughn which won her the 2017 Quiana received the International Sarah Vaughan Award. She was selected out of 600 singers, and five finalists. By winning the Sarah Vaughan award she received a recording contract.

2016- present; A private vocal instructor for Loyola University in New Orleans.

2017 Quiana performed tribute at Preservation Hall in New Orleans a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald's 100 birthday. She was backed up by the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The event performed songs from throughout Ella's career.

2018 - Quiana featured artist with Bernard Purdie's All-Star Shuffle, and Bobbi Humphrey, at Brooklyn Academy of Music's R&B Festival in Brooklyn on June 7, 2018.

2018 - Participated in the International Jazz Day festival events in New Orleans.

Some artists Quiana has performed with Nona Hendryx, Terrence Blanchard, Jon Cowherd, Marvin Sewell, David Pulphus, Roderick Paulin, Don Vappie, Mitchell Player, Eric Harland, and with local artists and bands in Louisiana.

She is working on an album with Terence Blanchard. She has been a featured soloists on record albums.

Quiana has performed with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra as a principle Soprano, singing classical music. She has also performed in local musicals.

She has performed at the New Orleans Jazz festival doing traditional jazz music.

She is the founder of "Made in America: Lyrically Speaking" a program that is used nationally in clinics, and musicians run. [8]. "Musicians Run" is a musicians meet-up to exercise weekly to promote health.

She regularly performs at venues in New Orleans and Baton Rouge; such as Snug Harbor (jazz club), in the French Quarters in New Orleans. [9] [10] [11]
