Trigonopterus bawangensis is a species of flightless weevil in the genus Trigonopterus from Indonesia. [1]

Etymology

The specific name is derived from that of the type locality. [1]

Description

Individuals measure 1.90–2.48 mm in length. The body is slightly rhomboid in shape. General coloration is rust-colored, except for the pronotum, which is almost black. [1]

Range

The species is found at elevations of 246–556 metres (807–1,824 ft) on Mount Bawang in the Indonesian province of West Kalimantan. [1]

Phylogeny

T. bawangensis is part of the T. attenboroughi species group. [1]
