Teresa Seneke (1848 – November 1875) [1] was an Italian composer [2] who is best known for her opera Le Due Amiche (The Two Friends). [3]
Biography
Seneke was born in Chieti [4] and died at age 27 in Rome. [5] Little is known about her education or personal life. Le Due Amiche premiered in Rome at the Teatro Argentina [6] in 1869, when Seneke was only 21. In addition to this opera, she composed vocal, [7] piano, and dance music. [8] Her compositions were originally published by Olivieri [9] and more recently by Alfred Music. [10]
