Sorry about having to use the crowned hand old Northern Ireland flag. There is absolutely nothing else symbolising Northern Ireland anywhere on wikipedia. As Maggie Thatcher would say - the Union Jack: That is out. The Tricolour: That is out. The flag of the province of Ulster: That is out. Why couldn't the peace process come up with a new cross community flag? FearÉIREANN 01:03, 16 Apr 2005 (UTC)
That is a non-starter. In a divided society images unique to either community, which the other community finds provocative, are not an option. FearÉIREANN \ (caint) 05:48, 5 November 2005 (UTC)
I've put in an image of Northern Ireland from a map. Because it is so small the writing on it can't be seen so we won't have that pain-in-the-ass problem of each side's own versions of different places' names. And it gets around the problem of their being no neutral flag for Northern Ireland that one side or the other won't throw a tantrum over. They managed to get neutral non-sectarian symbols for the Assembly and the police. When the hell are they going to get their act together and work on neutral symbols for Northern Ireland as an entity, or are we going to have to put up with each side throwing tantrums when their symbols aren't given priority and the other side's supposedly have been for ever? No wonder people both in the UK and in the Republic are so fed with the whole friggin' lot of them sometimes. FearÉIREANN \ (caint) 06:02, 5 November 2005 (UTC)
