I changed the list of 'principal cities' in the template to confrom to the OMB definition given in Metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas defined by the Office of Management and Budget, December 2005. Any other list of 'principal cities' would amount to original research. -- Donald Albury( Talk) 01:25, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
Ok, thank you. -- Arigont
What I take "METROPOLITAN AND MICROPOLITAN STATISTICAL AREAS AND PRINCIPAL CITIES" to mean is that there are statistical areas along with cities on the list. It doesn't mean that everything on the list is a city. It is improper to be referring to Kendall as a city; its own wiki article states that it is a CDP. Can the template be changed so that instead of saying "principle cities" it says principal cities & population areas (or something to that effect)?
Okay, who put this offense to mankind on this template? Ft. is not a word!!!! Bastiq▼e demandez 20:32, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Everything that is in the old template (Template:Miami-Fort Lauderdale-Miami Beach MSA) is in the new template (Template:South Florida metropolitan area) so it is ridiculous to keep this one with its debatable and ambiguous use of the term "principle cities" and it inconcise name. The new template will provide a NPOV guide to the cities in Miami. It is based off the WP:Dallas template. I am remerging this to the new template to comply with WP:NPOV.-- Jorfer 00:17, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
I just noticed this, because I normally have all templates on a page expanded, but this template is broken (shows raw code) in its collapsed state. (It's fine when it is expanded.) Anyone here want to tackle fixing it? I fired off a comment to the guy who did the edit (he's apparently pretty adept with templates), but if someone else here can fix it, that's a good thing too. I've added a couple of additional airports and replaced a redlinked airport within this template, There are however a few others within the metropolitan area. Perhaps the Section could be linked to Category:Airports in Florida. I'm not going to make that change without discussion Slysplace | talk 18:11, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
