Influences

The "influences" section should most definitely be removed. Not what a WP:NAVBOX is for. Why would anyone reading, say, Natural Law, or Don't Put a Rubber on Your Willy need a link to, say, Ezra Pound? They are far too tangential to be included here. Also there's an element of WP:UNDUE. -- Rob Sinden ( talk) 16:18, 26 October 2015 (UTC) reply

"Why would anyone reading, say, Natural Law, or Don't Put a Rubber on Your Willy need a link to, say, Ezra Pound?" (lol). Have to leave now, will get to this later, thanks. Randy Kryn 16:27, 26 October 2015 (UTC) reply
Robert Anton Wilson's influences are well credited, talked about, and shared with his readers in all of his books, on his Wikipedia page, and in his recorded lectures, and seem so well documented and continually discussed by the subject that it seems appropriate for his template to contain such a section. That's not the point, they are not suitable for a navbox, because, well, they fail WP:NAVBOX. The field isn't even supported in {{ Infobox person}} any more. Imagine if every writer, musician, film director, painter, etc., had their established "influences" included in their navboxes. It would be chaos. Imagine what {{ Quentin Tarantino}} would look like! No special exception should be made for this author. -- Rob Sinden ( talk) 11:08, 27 October 2015 (UTC) reply
I won't agree that they don't belong, there are definitely templates where an 'influences' section works well, but you may be right about authors and but I'll remove the section and edit-in some of the links to the 'Related' portion of the template. It'll take a few minutes, then let's discuss the inclusions if you disagree. Randy Kryn 15:52, 27 October 2015 (UTC) reply
Thanks Randy. I have issues with a couple of the links which I think are too tangential ( Church of the SubGenius/ Ivan Stang for example), but not going to bother about them now... -- Rob Sinden ( talk) 08:55, 28 October 2015 (UTC) reply

Per WP:EXISTING, this section should be removed until articles are created, or independent notability established. -- Rob Sinden ( talk) 16:18, 26 October 2015 (UTC) reply

Will get back to these later, have to leave now. Wilson's wife is a recognized poet and his daughter created and heads up a major medical organization. Both articles will definitely be written someday, thus red links are allowed. Randy Kryn 16:25, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
I don't think they would pass WP:NOTABILITY. There are no other mentions of either of them on Wikipedia, and there doesn't seem to be any Google hits for "Christina Wilson Pearson" that aren't mirrors of this template. Best to wait until the articles are written so that notability can be established. -- Rob Sinden ( talk) 16:41, 26 October 2015 (UTC) reply
Here's a quick link to a subject-written bio of Christina Pearson. Her founded organization, Trichotillomania Learning Center, doesn't have a Wikipedia page yet either. Maybe you're right on this one, until one or both of her pages are written. Randy Kryn 17:40, 26 October 2015 (UTC) reply
