Electoral History

Should July–September 2022 Conservative Party (UK) leadership election be added to this as Rishi Sunak was the runner-up (and ahead in every ballot of the MPs)? Dunarc ( talk) 21:00, 28 October 2022 (UTC) reply

I have added it in for the above reasons, but am happy to discuss further if anyone has any strong objections. Dunarc ( talk) 16:52, 23 December 2022 (UTC) reply

18th Leader of the Conservative Party

Does this really need to be numbered in the template? It does not seem to be in any other similar template (eg Template:Theresa May, Template:David Cameron or Template:Liz Truss) and it is also complicated by the fact that although Bonar Law was technically the first person to officially hold the title (after the fallout from the Carlton Club meeting), nearly every serious historian would accept that for most of the previous 100 years there was a recognised Conservative Party leader and several books lists of Conservative Party leaders will start with Robert Peel. Ultimately I do not really think the number adds anything to the template and so I would suggest removing it. I am also not convinced his other offices need to be numbered either.
