Possible item for inclusion. It's purely a periodization article, no history other than historiography. Although I wonder if periodizations would overwhelm this template there are so many. --

I've added it in, although I do sort of understand the concern about potentially too many periodizations. That's probably something to figure out, so I've limited it to
modern era-related periodizations for now.

Way too big
This template is way too big, and constantly getting bigger. There is no end in sight, because the topic is as vast as history itself. --

It helps a lot, thank you. Though I think it would better half the size, it still takes up real estate. Is it possible to collapse within collapse? For example placing "By country|war|person sections into a single top-level section. Same with othertopics|related .. there's also some repeated information with "historical methods" link at the top and a collapsed section called "Methodology". --
